Outside mounted blinds are installed directly on your wall or surrounding the window.

Outside mounts are superior to inside mounts if your main goal is privacy and light control as they cover the entire window and don’t allow for little gaps at the side.

This mount type is also ideal if your windows are tilt and turn windows. The outside mount allows space closer to the window which makes it easy to use the handles in day to day use.

If you have window frames and sills that you would rather be covered up for some reason, outside mounted blinds are a perfect choice as they hide the entire window as well as its surrounds.

It’s not always possible to install blinds using an outside mount. You will need to have enough space at the top of the frame or between the window and the ceiling to place the outside mount hardware.
